Cork in the Fork Promises to 'Pop!' on September 25
Benefits Williamson County Causes with Big Entertainment, Greater Taste Selections and More
LEIPER’S FORK, TN (July 18, 2010)—"It's going to be one fantastic evening," committee chair Jennifer Bickerstaff pronounced, when asked about this year's Cork in the Fork benefit presented by the Leipers Fork Community Association. Last year's event launched the concept of a wine tasting fundraiser in the historic village known for its live music events, unique shopping, delicious foods and small town charm. It was a great success on every level, proving that the diminutive arts community can present its rustic appeal with twinkling elegance.
This year's celebration planning is expanded and includes more wines, foods and tasting stations among the town's shops and eateries. Carefully selected Williamson, Maury and Davidson County restaurants will present hors d'oeuvre-sized offerings that represent the best of their menus paired with fine wines as well as — new this year — several micro brewed beers. Last year's very popular cigar bar tent will be back and larger but the biggest addition is the evenings' cap of a live performance by the chart-rocketing, newly formed duo of Sarah Buxton and Jedd Hughes.
Cork in the Fork, A Celebration of Wine, Food and Friends begins at 7 p.m. on September 25th. It benefits Save the Franklin Theatre, Happy Tales Humane and the Leipers Fork Community Association. Tickets are $100 per individual or $175 per couple. Its Patron's Party on September 17th for first, second and third tier sponsors will feature live performances by Tony Joe White and Keb' Mo'. To participate as a sponsor, donate items to the silent auction, buy tickets or find out more, go to www.corkinthefork.com.
Cork in the Fork is sponsored by Lipman, The Martin Foundation, Del Rio Wine & Spirits, Hot Spot Coffee and Hills& Hamlets Publishing. More sponsors are expected for all levels. Please check the Web site for updates.
The mission of the Leipers Fork Community Association is to promote, sustain and develop commerce within the village and its closely surrounding area while upholding and preserving the integrity of its historical, rural and small town characteristics. Money raised through Cork in the Fork allows the LFCA to sponsor free events in the historic village throughout the year.
